Drain Pumping Station
The return water pump station is designed to push water at a rate of 70 m3 a sec. at the static head of 1.1 meters above sea level. The station is equipped with seventeen (17) Amaline submersible, horizontal pumps. The latter are of mixer type, which minimize energy consumption. The suction sides have screens to avoid the inflow of contaminants and other unwanted materials. The discharge column of 1800 mm has flap valves to protect the backflow of sea water. The total length of the manmade return water canal is 38.2 km.
