As part of its aims to be sustainable, NPC has begun the production of phytoplankton on land in dedicated production systems, without using freshwater, to provide alternative feed sources.

Marine Agriculture products are phytoplankton (food & feed), derived products from it (omega-3 oils, pigments, plant proteins, nutra- and pharmaceuticals, bio diesel), or organisms grown on phytoplankton.

Marine Agriculture is fully sustainable; even the technology can be fully recycled. It only needs land (in NPC’s case the desert), saltwater, sunlight, minerals and enormous amounts of carbon dioxide. With this innovative platform NPC is developing a commercially viable business, which can contribute significantly to the furthering of society by providing food and nutrition and, as a positive side effect, possibly help mitigate climate change.
